Error 218 (AXP218) usually occurs because the CmFirm.wbc file is either missing completely or does not contain your Firm Code. You must import this file onto your system.

To program licenses, you need the Firm Security Box (FSB) and the CmFirm.wbc file with your Firm Code. You received this file from us when you became a customer. You may also find this file on other systems on which license generation works, below you will find the path per operating system:

• Windows: %ProgramData%\CodeMeter\DevKit.
• MacOS: Library/Application Support/CodeMeter
• Linux: etc/wibu/codemeter

Once you import this CmFirm.wbc file into your CodeMeter Control Center, you should be able to protect using your Firmcode. You can simply drag & drop the CmFirm.wbc file in your CodeMeter Control Center or you can import it using the cmu(32) tool.
